Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules for using Steady's services. By using Steady, you agree to follow these guidelines. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.
Permitted Use
Steady is designed for personal financial management. You may use Steady to:
- Track your personal income, expenses, and financial goals
- Connect your own bank accounts via Akahu
- Use AI-powered financial insights for your own finances
- Participate in social features (friends, leaderboards) with other users
- Share financial achievements and milestones
Prohibited Use
You must not use Steady to:
- Access or attempt to access another user's account or data
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use the AI chat feature to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Harass, bully, or send offensive content to other users via social features
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from Steady's systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service
- Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls
- Use Steady for commercial purposes, financial advising, or on behalf of others without consent
- Upload or share malicious files, links, or code
- Violate any applicable law, including the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
AI Chat Guidelines
Steady's AI assistant ("Ask Steady") provides general financial insights based on your data. When using the AI chat:
- Do not treat AI responses as professional financial advice
- Do not attempt to manipulate the AI into providing harmful or misleading information
- Do not use the AI to process data belonging to other people
- Understand that AI responses may contain inaccuracies — always verify important financial decisions
Social Features
When using friends, leaderboards, and sharing features:
- Only share content that is appropriate and respectful
- Do not use social features to spam or harass other users
- Respect other users' privacy — do not screenshot or share their financial data
- Report any abusive behaviour to support@steady.nz
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- A warning or temporary restriction of features
- Suspension or termination of your account
- Reporting to relevant authorities if required by law
